Manufacturing Technician
Get Spiffy Inc. is looking for a hands‑on Manufacturing Technician to assemble, test, and document our custom equipment. This is a production‑focused role: roughly 80% of your time will be spent assembling, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting production units; the remaining 20% focuses on documentation—creating and updating build procedures, work instructions, and test records. You should move fast on the floor and write clearly enough that others can follow your work.
This is an in‑person position requiring regular attendance.
Shift: 8 am–4 pm (with flexibility) Mon‑Fri
Pay Rate: $20–$30/hr DOE
Responsibilities- Assemble, wire, and bring up production units using engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Perform functional testing, diagnostics, and quality checks on electrical and mechanical subsystems.
- Identify build issues, root causes, and potential improvements during assembly and testing.
- Execute rework, tuning, or adjustments to ensure systems meet performance standards.
- Support production cycles by preparing jigs, fixtures, materials, and tools.
- Create and maintain detailed build documentation, work instructions, and test procedures.
- Capture lessons learned and update procedures to reflect current best practices.
- Provide structured feedback on manufacturability and process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers to validate changes and refine designs.
- 2+ years of hands‑on assembly, production, or technician experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Demonstrated ability to document processes clearly—writing instructions others can follow without confusion.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precision work.
- Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides for documentation and reporting.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Associate’s degree or technical training in a relevant field preferred.
- Basic CAD skills (Fusion 360 preferred) a plus.
- Preference for those with automotive or vehicle upfit experience.
- Work primarily in a shop/garage environment with concrete floors.
- Exposure to varying temperatures depending on facility climate control.
- Work around vehicle exhaust fumes, electrical systems, and installation materials.
- Moderate to loud noise levels from power tools and equipment.
- Must be able to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and move inventory items and other work‑related items (up to 50 pounds).
- Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods.
- Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, lift, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head‑neck‑shoulders as needed, climb steps, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the day.
