Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
The Division of Fleet Services is responsible for maintaining and supporting the Town’s fleet of approximately 800 vehicles and equipment. An employee in this class serves as a journey-level Fleet Maintenance Technician and performs a wide range of preventive maintenance and repair activities on Town-owned vehicles and equipment.
Work includes diagnosing and repairing routine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with limited supervision. The Technician II operates with increasing independence, completes assigned repairs, and supports entry-level technicians as needed. This position requires sound mechanical knowledge, the ability to follow established procedures, and the application of standard diagnostic practices.
This position reports to the Fleet Services Supervisor. Employees may be subject to on-call or callback during emergency situations or inclement weather.
