Role overview

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) who will work in outpatient dialysis centers. You can make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families dealing with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease. The position emphasizes compassionate, empathetic patient care.

Training and career development

Joining DaVita as a PCT includes paid, extensive training to gain the skills needed to care for patients. After training, you will join a holistic team of care professionals and support staff. Key details

• No dialysis experience required.
• Training may occur at a facility or training clinic other than your home clinic.
• Potential to float to various clinics during and after training.
• Flexible schedule; ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you can expect

• Direct patient care in dialysis, with focus on safety, comfort, and hygiene.
• Care for multiple patients and monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats and operating dialysis machines.
• Educate patients on kidney dialysis-related topics and build long-term relationships with patients receiving treatment 3 times per week.
• Work within a cross-functional team of clinicians under RN supervision.

Requirements

• Desire to enter the health care field to care for others.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort working around blood and needles and mixing acid or bicarb.
• Physical and mental ability to work long hours on your feet (some shifts 12+ hours).
• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
• Healthcare experience a plus (BONENT, CHT, CNA, CMA, or Phlebotomy certification).
