Financial Controller

You work at the heart of the organization and are given the space to improve, build and look ahead. As a Financial Controller, you are responsible for reliable financial and sustainability reports and you make sharp analyses that support our management in decision-making. You monitor the financial processes, optimize internal controls where possible and ensure timely monthly and annual closings. You will be part of a committed team in which cooperation, quality and responsibility are central.

Your work will mainly focus on finance & accounting, from closing and analyses to internal control and risk & control. In addition, you are responsible for sustainability reporting. Experience in this is a plus, but your interest and motivation to develop this further is especially important to us.

Finance & Accounting

• Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closings.
• Preparation of financial reports and analyses.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and year-end closings, including balance sheet specifications, journal entries and financial analyses.
• Correct processing of ledger and subledgers, fixed assets and suspense accounts.
• Processing and auditing intercompany transactions and reconciliation between entities.
• Supporting cost price calculations, project administrations and progress reports.
• Taking care of VAT returns and contributions to other tax reports.
• Monitoring internal controls, compliance and risk management.
• First point of contact for external auditors during interim and end-of-year audits.
• Identifying deviations, risks and areas for improvement within financial processes.
• Actively contribute to process improvements, standardization and further professionalization of the financial organization.

Sustainability

• Coordinating and developing sustainability and ESG reporting
• Support in setting up data models, definitions and internal controls around ESG information.
• Coordinating with departments such as Operations, HR, Procurement and Engineering about sustainability data.
• Identifying risks and areas for improvement in the areas of sustainability, compliance and reporting.
• Staying informed of developments in legislation and regulations surrounding CSRD and ESG reporting.
• Identifying, analysing and monitoring financial and non-financial risks
• Maintaining and improving the risk and control framework
• Performing risk analyses and internal controls
• Support with compliance and governance issues
• Advising management on risk management and mitigating measures

You are an accurate, independent and structured financial who keeps an overview in a complex environment. Quality of grades is your priority: you work critically, analytically strong and dare to ask questions when necessary. You also have good communication skills and know how to work effectively with various stakeholders.

You also bring the following:

• Completed college or university education in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics or similar
• Several years of relevant work experience in accountancy, production or a similar financial position
• Strong knowledge of financial administration, accounting and closing processes
• Experience with or demonstrable interest in sustainability (experience is an advantage)
• Knowledge of internal control, compliance and risk management
• Good knowledge of Excel; experience with ERP systems and power BI is an advantage

• A salary between €4,300 and €5,500 per month, depending on knowledge and experience
• 27 vacation days annually + 13 ADV days
