American Traveler is hiring an Emergency Dept RN for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment requiring a CA RN license, 1 year of ER experience, and Epic charting experience.
Requirements- Active CA RN license required (compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB, OCN, TNCC
- Epic charting experience required
- Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds
- General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric, non-trauma patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours starting at 12:00 PM
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend, with potential for additional weekends based on unit needs
- No call requirements
- No floating required, though travelers may be asked to float between sister facilities
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Provide emergency nursing care across general adult and pediatric populations in a non-trauma ED setting
- Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
- Free parking available on-site
- Must be open to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-submission requests may not be accommodated
- Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
