Job DescriptionPatient Care Coordinators are responsible for providing exceptional service by welcoming our patients and ensuring all check‑in and checkout processes are completed.
Responsibilities- Acknowledge and greet patients, customers, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Answer and respond to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Schedule appointments
- Gather patients and insurance information
- Verify and enter patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete
- Verify vision and medical insurance information and enter EMR
- Maintain a clear understanding of insurance plans and be able to communicate insurance information to the patients
- Pull schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensure files are complete
- Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed
- Print and prepare forms for patients visit
- Collect and document all charges, co‑pays, and payments into EMR
- Allocate balances to insurance as needed
- Always maintain a clean workspace
- Practice economy in the use of equipment and supplies
- Perform other duties as needed and as assigned by manager
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality
