Lifeworks Volunteer

Volunteer role at Lifeworks Services, Inc. Lifeworks is seeking volunteers for short and long-term opportunities to support adult individuals with disabilities. As a volunteer, you will be responsible for completing tasks assigned by the supervisor while respecting the organization's principles and acting professionally toward all clients and staff members.

• Supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Sharing your expertise on a subject or hobby by leading or teaching individuals in classroom or one-on-one settings (examples: knitting, sports, singing, playing an instrument).
• Participating in and helping staff facilitate group activities such as arts & crafts, music, games, outings, etc.
• Providing clients and staff with hands-on support during community outings, such as helping with meals and pushing wheelchairs.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to assist where needed throughout the facility.
• Understanding your role, obligations, and the organization's policies and safety standards.
• Maintaining trustworthiness, protecting confidentiality, respecting colleagues’ rights, and approaching work with an open, non-judgmental mindset.
• Following the organization's safety standards while fulfilling duties.
• Arriving on time for scheduled shifts and maintaining a professional demeanor with clients and staff.

• Successful completion of all necessary and required training.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Professional and able to adhere to instructions.
• Courteous, attentive, and approachable demeanor.
• Access to dependable transportation and excellent time management skills.
• Candidate must complete and pass a background study, pre-employment drug screen, and reliable transportation for work purposes.
