Before School Caregiver (Part-Time)

Location:

Appleton Area School District (school year) and Oshkosh/Appleton;
Pay: $18 per hour.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic individual to provide one‑on‑one support for an active young boy participating in before‑school programming at the YMCA in the Appleton Area School District. The ideal candidate will balance active engagement and supervision while promoting the child’s independence, social interaction, and emotional well‑being.

Schedule:

Part‑time during the school year (after school hours). Additional hours available on no‑school days and school breaks. Potential for full‑time hours during the holiday season with responsibilities shared between Oshkosh and Appleton.

• Provide attentive one‑on‑one care and support during the YMCA before‑school program.
• Encourage the child’s participation in group activities and peer interactions.
• Remain available for emotional support and respond appropriately in case of a medical emergency.
• Communicate effectively with program staff and family to ensure consistency and safety.
• Support a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment.

• Experience working with children in a caregiving, educational, or recreational setting.
• Ability to manage and respond calmly in emergency situations.
• Reliable, patient, and compassionate demeanor.
• Must have dependable transportation between Oshkosh and Appleton. (Although care will be onsite at a YMCA location, you will be employed by the family.)
