Grading Operator

Grading Operator – Walbec Group – Northeast Asphalt, Inc.

We’re looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to work in our grading department, based in Northeastern Wisconsin. Under the direction of the Foreman, you will operate grading equipment safely and efficiently at construction sites.

Projects list:

• Use machinery to move construction materials, earth, and other heavy materials at construction sites.
• Operate equipment that clears and grades land to prepare it for construction of roads, working with one or several types of power construction equipment safely and effectively.
• Read and understand grade stakes, automated machine control cab displays, and other operational data.
• Perform rough grade and finish grade as needed, depending on assignment.
• Maneuver machinery in tight quarters, around people, traffic, and utilities.
• Clean, maintain, and secure all equipment.
• Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Assist with repairs as needed.

• Based primarily in Northeastern Wisconsin, but projects will vary by location throughout the local area or state. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to any job site as needed are required.

• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
• CDL desired but not required.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Ability to work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends as needed.
• Tolerance for variable weather conditions and dirty, dusty environments.
• Member of appropriate trade union or willingness to become a union member required. Union membership may not be required prior to employment; HR can assist.
