Adjunct Instructor – Agriculture Equipment Technology
Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor in Agriculture Equipment Technology. The instructor will teach in the Service Motor Company Agriculture Center and facilitate student learning through a blend of hybrid, in‑person, virtual, and online delivery methods.
Job Description SummaryAdjunct Instructors are responsible for the facilitation of student learning and the ongoing development of instructional strategies that promote student success.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Learning Facilitation – develop appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement.
- Assessment – assess student learning, provide regular feedback, and use data to improve course quality.
- Classroom Management – maintain schedule, attendance, grades, safety, and equipment security.
- Team Participation – stay current with departmental and institutional initiatives.
- Business & Community Engagement – build relationships with industry partners and promote the College.
- Student Success & Support – advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services to improve retention.
- Professional Development – improve teaching skills and maintain accreditation requirements.
- Curriculum Development – develop competency‑based, industry‑aligned curriculum and instructional materials.
- Associate degree or higher (Bachelor’s in a related field preferred).
- Minimum 4,000 occupational hours in the target field within the last five years; 3–5 years preferred.
- Familiarity with ag‑tech, precision agriculture software, or similar tools.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Must meet and maintain FVTC, Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards, and any required licensing.
- Valid driver’s license; subject to FVTC’s Motor Vehicle Records Check.
- Proficiency with learning management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptability to changing demands and continuous improvement in instructional quality.
- Responsible for agriculture shop maintenance and housekeeping.
- Monitor graduation requirements and serve as an ambassador for agriculture in community activities.
- Prepare and submit required reports; background check will be conducted pre‑hire.
Work Environment Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods; lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Stooping, bending, and reaching as needed; fine motor skills for detailed tasks.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Travel and driving may be required for fieldwork and professional development.
- Work is primarily in person, predominantly in classroom, but often outdoors in all weather conditions.
Hours per week: 8.75 (approximately 3–8 hours per week, including day, evening, and weekend classes). Pay: $45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
