As a Welding Engineer at Miller Electric, you will focus on new product development and sustaining initiatives to provide optimum solutions utilizing tools such as a picoscope, microscope, high‑speed camera, and design‑of‑experiment software programs.

• Evaluate welding arc performance for commercial welding power supplies.
• Optimize welding arcs for Laser, GMAW, GMAW‑P, GTAW, and SMAW processes.
• Develop welding‑related solutions for customer challenges and issues.

Welding Engineers are heavily involved in all stages of New Product Development and sustaining initiatives, sharing knowledge to guide our team to success.

• Partner with various levels of the organization, including production, engineering, customer service, marketing, and leadership to identify, strategize, and bring to life the latest and greatest welding products to the market.
• Support cross‑functional team members with advanced customer applications and challenges.

• Technical Knowledge and
  
  Skills:
  
  Strong knowledge of GTAW and SMAW welding processes, techniques, and settings. Additional knowledge of GMAW, GMAW‑P and laser is preferred. Basic understanding of arc physics, metallurgy and how the variables impact the arc performance and the weldment.

• Flexibility to Travel:
  Up to 25% travel required.

• Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering (BSWE) or Welding Engineering Technology (BSWET) degree required.
• Minimum 5+ years of welding engineering experience preferred, including manufacturing experience.
