Our client, a growing controls engineering and systems integrator, is hiring a Lead Robotics Controls Engineer to design and deliver advanced automation solutions. This role leads the development of robotic and automated systems supporting industrial & collaborative robotics, micro-automation, AMRs, and flexible part feeding
. You’ll work closely with customers, project managers, and internal teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality systems—while enjoying significantly lower travel than typical integrator roles.
- Lead design, programming, and startup of robotic cells and automation systems
- Develop PLC, HMI, and robotic code from scratch
- Support projects from concept through customer acceptance
- Serve as a technical leader in AMR and robotics technologies
- Communicate directly with customers, panel shops, and internal teams
- Track project cost, schedule, and milestones
- Lead customer training and mentor internal engineers
- Participate in limited on-call support (2–3 times/year)
- Fanuc and other robotics platforms (ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi)
- 10+ years automation/robotics experience
- Strong customer-facing and project leadership skills
- Travel up to 25–30% (primarily Midwest), with possibly more during training phase
