JOB SUMMARY:

Controller – Finance with Flavor

As our Controller, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities within the organization, driving process improvements, and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. The controller is responsible for managing the monthly close process, financial reporting, internal controls, cash management and treasury functions, insurance, budgeting, and compliance. The Controller works closely with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to ensure financial integrity and support strategic decision-making.

You'll play a key role in modernizing and automating the finance function and finding opportunities to create value as we grow.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead month end and year end close process to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Drive improvements and automation in financial systems and processes, and internal controls.

    Evaluate and implement tools and systems to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for managing AP, billing, cash application, credit and collections, expense management, and fixed assets and all other accounting related processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and enhance internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop, recruit, mentor and strengthen the Finance team, leading the AP, AR and general ledger functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional projects consistent with overall Company goals and value creation plan.

Treasury Management

  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funding for operations.
  • Oversee cash management activities.
  • Support financing strategies, including credit facilities and capital expenditures.

Insurance & Risk Management

  • Administer corporate insurance programs, including property, liability, and workers’ compensation.
  • Support risk assessment and mitigation strategies across the organization.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Key contributor in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business planning and performance improvement.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong leadership, team development and relationship-building skills.
  • Process-oriented with a passion for system improvement and automation.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Technologically efficient, ideally with experience implementing accounting tools and AI-based solutions.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure, work within deadlines and the ability to work flexibly.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • High integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Good understanding of health and safety best practices within a manufacturing environment.
