Senior Payroll Specialist
Position Summary
The Boldt Company is seeking a dedicated Senior Payroll Specialist to manage day‑to‑day payroll operations for both union and non‑union employees, ensuring timely, accurate payroll and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Own the understanding of Boldt’s payroll system and lead efforts in leveraging data and report creation.
- Oversee the updating of payroll processes and procedures.
- Identify, participate in, and/or lead process improvement projects.
- Partner with internal and external partners to test new functional system enhancements, updates, and integrations.
- Ensure HR, Benefits, and Payroll changes are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Create reporting tools to support audits, track compliance, and reconcile payroll accounts.
- Prepare internal and external reports as required.
- Enter, verify, and reconcile union and non‑union payroll processing.
- Resolve issues and discrepancies by interfacing with internal and external agencies.
- Serve as backup for ETIME setup for new hires and assign access to time approvers.
- Serve as backup for running payroll, early pays, and approvals.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting, payments, and reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll wage attachment processing and related activities.
- Assist with projects and additional payroll tasks as needed.
- Assist with year‑end W‑2 processing.
- Associate’s degree, preferably in a business‑related field, or equivalent experience.
- Five years of full‑cycle payroll process experience.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Ability to design, document, and implement procedures to streamline processes.
- Intermediate Microsoft O365 experience.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Passion for process improvement with emphasis on leveraging technology.
- Proven ability to work in a confidential setting.
- Strong communication skills.
Working primarily in an office environment, the employee may need to remain seated for up to eight hours, occasionally move to access work spaces, and operate a computer and other office equipment. The position may require working overtime and weekends, and the employee may need to lift up to 15 pounds.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,590‑$90,416 per year. The incumbent will work in Minneapolis, MN; the salary range may adjust for alternate locations.
