Remote Opportunity:
Candidates can work remotely while partnering closely with Airgas leadership.

Base Pay: $150,000 to $190,000 annually

The Head of Data Governance will define, implement, and lead Airgas’ enterprise data governance strategy. This leader partners with business and technology executives to ensure data is trusted, secure, compliant, and usable across the enterprise. Responsibilities include data policies, stewardship, data quality, regulatory alignment, and enabling Airgas to maximize the business value of its data assets.

• Develop and lead the enterprise-wide data governance framework, policies, and standards.
• Facilitate Data Councils and Domain Committees so cross-functional stakeholders align on data definitions, resolve conflicts, and prioritize improvements.
• Partner with Airgas leadership to align governance with data strategy, analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Create a domain-based stewardship model with named business and technical stewards accountable for critical data quality and definition.
• Define and enforce data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business domains.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage enterprise metadata, data catalogs, and lineage to enable traceability and transparency.
• Embed stewardship in day‑to‑day processes within operational and business units.
• Build a culture of data accountability and literacy across Airgas.
• Provide training and support to data stewards, analysts, and business users.
• Evangelize governance as a foundation for digital transformation, customer experience, and AI-driven innovation.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years in data management, data quality, or data strategy leadership roles.
• 5+ years in cloud and modern data platforms (GCP, AWS, etc.).
• Experience interacting with Divisional Presidents, Executives, and stakeholders.
• Track record of influencing data ownership across multiple stakeholder groups.

• Master’s degree.
• Experience driving AI strategy.
• Prior FTE management experience.
