Overview

As a Project Manager II for The Boldt Company
, you will manage all aspects of the development and implementation of projects from original concept to final implementation and commissioning. The Project Manager II is responsible for protecting and promoting Boldt interests on projects. This hands-on role ensures safety standards, aligns with schedule requirements, and delivers work with the highest level of quality within budget. You will lead internal and external project reporting and manage the project team.

Responsibilities
  • Safety:
    Actively engages in day-to-day safety activities; implements the Safety Culture Improvement Plan on your project; embraces safety with a “we care” mindset and that everyone will go home to their family’s everyday culture; lifelong learner of how to improve project safety.
  • People:
    Lead architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, and owner’s representatives; lead meetings with client and A/E representatives; empower and coach a high-performance team; mentor assistant project managers and project engineers; support internship and apprenticeship programs; engage in company training programs.
  • Schedule:

    Lead the Boldt Production System (BPS) including master scheduling, production strategies, make-work-ready, weekly and daily planning and production tracking; lead subcontractor coordination and submittal review meetings; align procurement with milestones.
  • Cost:
    Negotiate change orders; manage changes; review estimates; coordinate with subcontractors; obtain approvals; maintain alignment with scope and budget; support cost control and risk and opportunity tracking.
  • Risk/Contract management:
    Prepare contract items list; develop scopes of work and execute subcontracts; participate in close-out process and final records; evaluate information for contract compliance; manage risk identification and monitoring and corrective actions.
What We Expect From You (Qualifications)
  • Bachelors’ degree in engineering, construction management or relevant field; or combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Seven or more years of related experience.
  • Solid understanding of construction equipment, drawings, specifications, building materials and applicable standards.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interact and communicate effectively with others.
  • Understanding of successful project delivery including financial data, production planning, and lean process improvement techniques.
  • Ability to apply innovative management techniques to inspire and empower teams; excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in O365 Office Suite.
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Details about physical requirements and working conditions including site work, travel, PPE usage, and environment. The position may require working indoors and outdoors in varied weather, safety equipment and possible overtime or weekend work.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $104,700 - $138,367 per year. This range represents what The Boldt Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered will depend on candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and internal equity.

Our expectation is that the incumbent will be assigned to a project site, traveling nationwide as needed, and based out of our Appleton, WI office. If the incumbent works out of a different location, the salary range is subject to change.
