Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to join our team in our Appleton, WI office. We are looking to expand our services in the state of Wisconsin. We have offices in Appleton and Madison but are open to expanding our team to other areas of the state. Duties and Responsibilities
    Manage the design and delivery of multidiscipline projects in a profitable manner
  • Oversee the technical aspects of various projects
  • Supervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
  • Develop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resources
  • Review, interpret and act on business metrics, including utilization, backlog, work in process and account receivables
  • Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects
  • Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Complete monthly project accounting and invoicing
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, support services and subconsultants
  • Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agencies
  • Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies
  • Write proposals and participate and/or lead interviews
  • Grow, mentor and train staff
  • Build relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partners
  • Lead business development activities
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and governmental entities
  • Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed
  • Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism
Required Skills
  • Outgoing, friendly, approachable
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage staff and direct resources effectively
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transportation design projects in a profitable manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects under the WisDOT delivery process
  • Extensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elements
  • Knowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final design
  • Track record of successfully winning and delivering projects
  • Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff
  • Ability to coach and motivate other
  • Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual
Required Experience
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in WI (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation design and project management
