Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to join our team in our Appleton, WI office. We are looking to expand our services in the state of Wisconsin. Duties and Responsibilities- Manage the design and delivery of multidiscipline projects in a profitable manner
- Oversee the technical aspects of various projects
- Supervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
- Develop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resources
- Review, interpret and act on business metrics, including utilization, backlog, work in process and account receivables
- Prepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects
- Develop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
- Complete monthly project accounting and invoicing
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures
- Coordinate with other disciplines, support services and subconsultants
- Coordinate with government agencies, utility providers or other outside agencies
- Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies
- Write proposals and participate and/or lead interviews
- Grow, mentor and train staff
- Build relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partners
- Lead business development activities
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients and governmental entities
- Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed
- Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism
- Outgoing, friendly, approachable
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage staff and direct resources effectively
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex transportation design projects in a profitable manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects under the WisDOT delivery process
- Extensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elements
- Knowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final design
- Track record of successfully winning and delivering projects
- Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff
- Ability to coach and motivate other
- Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual
- BS in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in WI (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)
- 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation design and project management
