Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Department Manager to provide strategic leadership, operational direction, and technical oversight for their Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) group. This leader will drive business performance, build high-functioning teams, and ensure consistent execution aligned with the company’s mission, values, and safety standards.
The ideal candidate is a strong people‑leader with deep technical experience, proven financial acumen, and a passion for building teams that deliver exceptional client satisfaction and project outcomes.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Electrical & Instrumentation department, directing assignments and monitoring performance to ensure effective, efficient use of staff and resources.
- Drive profitable growth by aligning staffing, workload, and billability with project demands and long‑term business strategy.
- Support, implement, and champion company, regional, and global practice initiatives while effectively managing organizational change.
- Provide senior‑level technical expertise, design guidance, and problem‑solving support.
- Monitor and achieve financial targets, including budget performance, staffing metrics, and department profitability.
- Prepare and present monthly workload forecasts and financial reports to leadership and project management teams.
- Collaborate with business development, project managers, and proposal teams to secure future work and maintain a healthy backlog.
- Recruit, develop, train, and retain department personnel to build and sustain a high‑performance team.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and ongoing coaching for department staff.
- Clearly communicate organizational goals, expectations, policies, and cultural values.
- Oversee and enforce all QA/QC standards and safety compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Perform additional duties related to departmental management as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field required; 7+ years of direct relevant experience required.
- Equivalent experience may be considered instead of a degree.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and staff‑development skills.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to work independently, think strategically, and solve problems quickly and effectively.
