US Tech Force is looking for a motivated and experienced Packaging Backup Lead to join a great team in the Appleton, WI area!

1st shift:

Hours:

8:00am start 10-12 hours a day

  • Support and fill in for the Packaging Lead during absences, overseeing all department operations.
  • Direct daily workflow, assign tasks, and maintain efficient production.
  • Train and coach new and existing team members on proper packaging procedures.
  • Perform startup/shutdown tasks and monitor equipment functionality; report or adjust as needed.
  • Operate packaging equipment including labeling machines, box tapers, pallet jacks, slicers, and related tools.
  • Complete and document daily metal detector checks; report issues immediately.
  • Stage and organize products using FIFO standards for freshness and accuracy.
  • Perform and oversee quality checks—product weight, size, labeling, and finished goods standards.
  • Support boxing line efficiency, accuracy, and labeling compliance.
  • Ensure GMP, Food Safety, and HACCP/HARPC standards are followed at all times.
  • Oversee documentation, lot coding, freezer pulls, palletizing, and inventory accuracy.
Packaging Backup Lead – Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Spanish bilingual preferred).
  • Basic math and computer skills for data entry and yield reporting.
  • Ability to lift 5–50 lbs. repeatedly and stand/walk for long periods.
  • Experience operating packaging equipment and performing basic troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of labeling machines, box tapers, pallet jacks, and freezer operations.
  • Understanding of GMP, Food Safety, and HACCP/HARPC (or willingness to learn with provided training).
  • Proven leadership ability—experience directing workflow, supporting teams, or training employees.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in warm/cold environments and perform repetitive movements during 10–12 hour shifts.
