Production Supervisor – Welding Accessories & Cutting

Join Miller Electric Mfg. LLC as a 1st‑shift Production Supervisor in the Welding, Accessories, and Cutting division. In this role you will mentor teams and solve problems that drive results in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost savings.

How You Will Make An Impact Leadership
  • Coach and develop work teams to maintain positive, proactive attitudes and personal accountability.
  • Mentor team members to resolve conflict fairly and consistently, empowering their development.
  • Drive a customer‑experience mindset across all areas of the division.
  • Improve the order‑fulfillment process by configuring layouts, executing action plans, and selecting equipment to enhance warehouse operations.
  • Analyze problems, identify sources of conflict, develop, and implement action plans to resolve issues.
  • Assess and evaluate team members’ performance and goals regularly, supporting their achievement.
  • Mentor, develop, and support Team Leaders.
Safety
  • Lead safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost‑saving initiatives through employee involvement and ITW toolbox principles.
  • Work closely with the safety committee and team members to continually improve the safety culture and proactively identify and correct safety hazards.
Collaboration
  • Participate and lead committees or teams as needed.
  • Build and maintain a network of inter‑company peers and subject‑matter experts to share best practices that improve cost, quality, and delivery of products.
  • Provide information and collaborate with the team to manage resource planning effectively.
  • Build employee relationships through daily, open, and direct communication, encouraging creativity and innovation.
  • Demonstrate and encourage effective communication with personnel at all levels.
  • Deeply understand the production system and fulfillment process.
  • Work closely with support staff and Human Resources.
  • Coordinate the production team during emergency repairs and non‑routine maintenance to ensure continuous production flow.
What You Need To Be Successful In This Role

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations or a related field.
  • Detailed understanding of warehouse operations and order‑fulfillment impacts.
  • 3+ years of related production supervisory experience.
  • Positive attitude, personal accountability, coaching, listening, and approachability.
  • Skill in performance management; able to provide formal and informal feedback.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing concepts, quality measurements, and OSHA requirements.
  • Strong oral, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and D365.
  • Technical acumen is desired.
  • Strong initiative and follow‑through.
  • Proven experience leading a team.
  • Experience driving employee involvement/engagement and encouraging creativity.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cost drivers.
  • Track record as a proven leader and team player.
  • Ability to resolve issues/conflicts promptly.
  • Encourages diverse ideas, coaches to develop strengths, and facilitates communication between shifts.
  • Customer‑focused, working with management, support staff, customers, and suppliers to blend business functions.
  • Problem‑solving and conflict‑management skills.
