Machinist

Direct Start works with a leading manufacturing company that specializes in producing high‑quality precision parts for a variety of industries. All programming is done offline, so candidates need not know Master Cam or Gibbs programming, but they must have a full understanding of G&M code.

This is a job shop where you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. We are looking for machinists, not operators.

• 5 years experience with Roll building.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machine set‑up and production methods.
• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with machines or parts, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of orders.
• Continuously seek ways to improve processes and increase efficiency.

• 5 years experience setting up machine including tooling.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a machinist, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality work.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
