Machinist
Company OverviewDirect Start works with a leading manufacturing company that specializes in producing high‑quality precision parts for a variety of industries. All programming is done offline, so candidates need not know Master Cam or Gibbs programming, but they must have a full understanding of G&M code.
Position OverviewThis is a job shop where you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. We are looking for machinists, not operators.
Key Responsibilities Lathes- 5 years experience with Roll building.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machine set‑up and production methods.
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with machines or parts, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of orders.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and increase efficiency.
- 5 years experience setting up machine including tooling.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a machinist, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality work.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools and instruments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
