Production Lead

Base pay range

$18.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Hours: 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm

Overview: As a lead in our Custom Products department, you will be responsible for assisting the Custom Prdocuts Supervisor in getting ordered pallets built and shipped. You will set up each jobs according to the customer needs and pallet design as well as oversee the product being build and checking for quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check set‑up notes and blueprints for proper board placement and lumber needs
• Set up all jigs for production
• Coordinate delivery of raw materials with the Custom Products Supervisor and forklift operator for department
• Adhere to production schedule as outlined by the Custom Products Supervisor
• Inspect all incoming material for adherence to quality specifications
• Direct table helpers for production needs
• Ensure all over run materials are labeled, stacked properly, and coordinate the timely removal
• Interact and meet with the Custom Products Supervisor on a regular basis to discuss work assignments, schedule changes, and lumber needs
• Direct table builders and helpers in production
• Assist with training Custom Products personnel as to safe and efficient operating practices
• Train Custom Products employees in efficient methos of lumber placement and product assembly.
• Oversee Custom Products personnel to ensure that the work in a safe, productive and efficient manner
• Follow all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures and ensure other employees are doing the same
• Complete special projects as assigned by the Custom Products Supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of manufacturing and/or forklift experience preferred
• Self‑motivated to complete tasks and production schedule
• Demonstrate solid decision making and leadership skills
• Communicate effectively in both written and oral form
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations
• On most occasions will lift 50 pounds or less and on a rare occasion must be able to lift, push and pull objects that are 75 pounds or heavier
• Must be able to sit, walk, bend and twist for long periods of time throughout the day
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Must be able to understand and adhere to all the safety requirements of the pallet manufacturing facility
