APPLETON at our THEDACARE PHYSICIANS APPLETON GATEWAY facility.
This role is onsite. Full-time, 40-hour workweek. Shift 1:
Monday through Thursday 9:00 am–5:30 pm;
Friday 7:00 am–3:30 pm (or 8:00 am–4:30 pm). No holidays or weekends.
This RN will work with other Infusion RNs and leadership to open a new Specialty Infusion suite at the Appleton Gateway Center. Once open, the RN will work independently to provide infusion to specialty patients. The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient- and family-centered care. The RN will systematically collect and assess data related to patient health status to develop, execute, and evaluate the plan of care.
The RN will utilize evidence to drive clinical decisions related to individual and population health, establish goals for care coordination, and consider safety, effectiveness, and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. The RN will delegate and supervise care in accordance with the WI Nurse Practice and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assume responsibility for professional development.
- Perform/direct ACLS
- Independent rhythm interpretation and defibrillation
- Administration of advanced lifesaving medications
- Independent, templated ("RN-only") visits for patient assessment, with action taken based on established protocols and/or clinical practice standards using clinical judgment to determine intervention timing/specifics.
- Specialty patient education (sedation, telemetry monitoring & interpretation, and management of rhythm changes)
- Assisting with complex procedures (RN doing care/work on patient, or RN has role in treatment/procedure, etc.)
- Advanced wound therapy (VACs, debridement, etc.)
- Central line management (TPA administration) and maintenance (dressing/cap changes, access/flushing)
- Device interrogation and interpretation with resultant action
- Complex infusions (concurrent infusions, hazardous medication administration, blood and blood products, etc.)
- Patient care coordination, direct patient care, patient education, telephone triage/eVisits, and performing/assisting with minor procedures
- May float to other areas as needed for operations
Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment is required. At least one year of relevant nursing experience is preferred.
EducationNursing licensure is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
LicensureRequires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
