Veterinary Technician - ECC

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital in Appleton, WI is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to work in our Emergency and Critical Care department.

Emergency Veterinary Technician – ER/ICU Department.

• 9‑hour shift. 11pm–8am (Third shift).
• Every other weekend required.

CVTI‑II: $21.00 – $33.50/hour. Pay depends on local licensing, experience, and competency assessment.

• Weekday Night (Mon‑Fri 6p–8a): $3.50
• Weekend Day (Sat‑Sun 8a–6p): $3.50
• Weekend Night (Sat‑Sun 6p–8a): $5.00

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia; use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure).
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique.
• Assist with or perform CT, endoscopy, and ultrasonography.
• Understand normal vital sign ranges, including oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals; alert veterinarians to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math (constant‑rate infusions) and administer medications appropriately.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes, drains, PICC line catheters, and central lines.
• Mentor and train team members; engage with clients with empathy and professionalism.
• Hold current CPR certifications; ALS and BLS training provided.

Experienced Veterinary Technician with Emergency and Critical Care background; valid VAT license in Wisconsin; proficiency in anesthesia, IV access, imaging, and critical patient care.

Full‑time CVT associates receive 8 hours of CE paid annually; VTS associates receive 12 hours; non‑credentialed paraprofessionals receive $150 stipend.
