If so, we want YOU to join our team at Lowney's Landscaping Center as a Utility Maintenance Technician! As a Utility Maintenance Technician, you'll be on the front lines, enhancing the beauty and health of our customers' properties.

Every day will bring something new, from keeping turf lush and weed‑free to ensuring vibrant plant life thrives throughout the growing season. But that's just the start! You'll also have the chance to get hands‑on with weed eradication, shrub and tree pruning, annual and perennial planting, and pond care. You'll even help with one‑day makeovers that transform landscapes and bring joy to clients!

What

You’ll Be Doing as a Utility Maintenance Technician
  • Small Lawn Renovations:
    Transform tired, patchy lawns into lush, vibrant green spaces by implementing the best techniques in seeding, aeration, and soil amendments.
  • Planting Bed Renovations:
    Bring new life to planting beds by rejuvenating soil, replanting, and enhancing the beauty of flower beds with fresh, seasonal plants and a keen eye for design.
  • Pond Startups & Winterizations:
    Care for water features by properly starting up ponds in spring and preparing them for winter with meticulous maintenance to ensure healthy aquatic environments year‑round.
  • Low Voltage Lighting Troubleshooting:
    Dive into the tech side of landscaping by diagnosing and fixing low voltage lighting systems, ensuring your clients’ landscapes are beautifully lit at night.
  • Spring/Fall Clean‑ups:
    Give properties a fresh start each season by handling thorough clean‑ups—removing debris, trimming perennials, and preparing gardens for optimal growth in the next season.
  • Weeding Planting Beds:
    Keep beds pristine and well‑maintained by managing weeds, ensuring plant health, and preventing unwanted growth from taking over the garden.
  • Perennial Plant Care:
    Keep your perennials flourishing by performing essential care like deadheading, seasonal cutbacks, and plant division for size control, ensuring vibrant blooms year after year.
  • Tree & Shrub Care:
    Provide care for small trees and shrubs, performing essential tasks like renewal pruning, dead‑wooding, structural pruning, and shaping to ensure plants are healthy and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Tool & Equipment Mastery:
    Skillfully use and maintain a wide range of tools and equipment, from hand tools to power tools, ensuring each task is performed safely and effectively.
  • Weather‑Responsive Decision Making:
    Be ready to adapt your work approach based on changing weather conditions, ensuring your landscaping projects continue to thrive no matter the season.
  • Effective Communication:
    Foster clear communication with your team and clients, ensuring seamless coordination and an outstanding customer experience from start to finish.
What You’ll Bring to the Table as a Utility Maintenance Technician
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A strong educational foundation to support the learning and growth you'll experience in this role.
  • Strong Work Ethic & Willingness to Learn: A passion for working hard, learning new skills, and growing in the landscaping industry with a commitment to excellence.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License:
    You're ready to drive safely and efficiently, ensuring you can get to job sites on time and equipped for success.
  • Physical Strength & Stamina:
    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle physically demanding tasks such as walking long distances, carrying equipment, and maneuvering materials with ease.
  • Positive Attitude & Self‑Motivation: A go‑getter who takes immense pride in your work, with the initiative to stay focused, maintain energy, and consistently exceed expectations.
  • Endurance for Long Distances:
    Willingness to walk long distances with equipment, ensuring every area of your job site receives the attention it deserves, no matter the size of the property.
