At Fundamentals, we believe every young person deserves to be understood for who they are—not defined by a diagnosis.

As an Autism Support Caregiver, you'll work directly with autistic and neurodivergent youth, helping them build confidence, communication, independence, and everyday life skills in a supportive environment.

What You'll Do

Every day is different. You'll work one-on-one and in small groups to help youth build skills, navigate challenges, and experience success.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with autistic and neurodivergent youth
  • Support communication, social, emotional, behavioral, and life-skill development
  • Provide individualized support based on each youth's strengths, needs, and goals
  • Use individualized treatment plans and evidence-based strategies
  • Support sensory needs, emotional regulation, and coping skills
  • Help youth work through challenging situations and develop positive alternatives
  • Turn everyday activities and interactions into opportunities for growth and learning
  • Support youth during activities, recreation, community outings, and daily routines
  • Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, case managers, and other members of the youth's support team
  • Document progress and contribute to treatment planning
What Makes This Work Different?

You may see a young person find a new way to communicate what they need. You may watch someone become comfortable participating in an activity they once avoided. You may see a youth become more independent, confident, or comfortable in their environment.

This position is hands‑on, relationship‑based, and meaningful. You'll have the opportunity to support youth in ways that recognize their individual strengths and needs while gaining valuable experience in autism support, behavioral health, education, and human services.
