The Assistant Football Coach (Quarterbacks Coach/Offensive Coordinator) will assist the Head Football Coach in all aspects of operating a successful football program. Responsibilities include recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes; assisting with practice planning, training sessions, game preparation, and game‑day coaching; supporting the academic progress of student-athletes; and managing assigned program and game‑day operations. This individual will also assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

• Plan and direct athletics skill development for student‑athletes.
• Recruit high‑caliber student‑athletes compatible with Lawrence University’s mission and the specific goals of the football program.
• Assist in advising a diverse community of student‑athletes and staff on applicable NCAA, MWC, and football‑specific rules, regulations, and University policies and ensure compliance of such regulations.
• Assist the Head Coach in reviewing practice and game video.
• Monitor student‑athlete academic performance and implement team, athletics department, and university measures to support their academic performance.
• Meet regularly with student‑athletes about academics and other matters pertaining to their enrollment and educational progress.
• Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting team activities.
• Cooperate with the University Athletic Trainers to ensure student‑athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
• Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition.
• Attend all team practices and home and away contests.
• Assume responsibility for student‑athlete compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
• Attend appropriate athletics departmental staff meetings.
• Serve as a game‑day manager.

• Successful coaching experience.
• Experience recruiting at the college level.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• First aid and AED certification needed prior to conducting athletics‑related activities.
• Must have successful completion of criminal and MVR background check, meet University Authorized Driver Policy requirements, and favorable completion of reference checks.
