Wisconsin Swim Academy is an elite learn‑to‑swim program that provides high‑quality swim instruction within our community, building confidence and developing life‑saving safety skills in a student‑centered environment. Our mission is to eliminate drownings in our community by educating our swimmers and parents. The Swim Team Readiness Coaching position eases the transition for swimmers from our program who wish to join a swim team, offering advanced safety and swim skill instruction, competitive techniques, and fundamentals.

Drowning is the number one cause of accidental death in children under the age of 4 years old.

We offer a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for those who love teaching and being around water. We provide paid training, and this part‑time position requires evening and weekend shifts.

• Ensure safety of everyone in class.
• Love and respect students while teaching them to swim.
• Follow our curriculum with a focus on each student’s needs, abilities and comfort.
• Utilize knowledge and curriculum to advance students’ abilities efficiently.
• Complete required training and remain a continual learner.
• Conduct skills assessments of students.
• Communicate with parents of students.
• Set up and put away equipment for class.
• Take attendance for classes.

• Caring and compassion for children.
• Knowledge of swimming technique and advanced skills required.
• Evening and weekend availability (School Year shifts: Tue, Wed, Thu 6:30pm‑8:00pm and Sun 2pm‑4pm).
• Reliable transportation to and from any shifts and trainings/meetings at Lawrence Buchanan Kiewit Wellness Center or Wisconsin Swim Academy.
• Strong communication skills.
• Great attitude and willingness to be coached.
• Commitment to at least one year of employment.
