How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Responsibilities
  • Operate a Class B Hazardous Materials vehicle, delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes.
  • Collect empty cylinders from customers and return them to a plant or branch location for refilling.
  • Address customer inquiries, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle checks, noting issues and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and keep the vehicle in good condition.
  • Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases at customer locations.
  • Return empty cylinders to plant or branch for refilling.
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations, providing timely communication to management or the assigned Airgas sales associate regarding any changes or issues.
  • Maintain load manifests and all required vehicle documents, ensuring completion and reconciliation with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.
  • Ensure that vehicle manifests, vehicle placards, cylinder labeling, load nesting and strapping comply with Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and all government regulations.
  • Work in warehouse or on dock as needed.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class B Driver's License.
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications (or ability to acquire certifications as a condition of employment).
  • Must have one (1) year of prior Class B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions; OR two (2) at‑fault accidents in the last 3 years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at‑fault accident in the last 3 years.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school or a combination of driving and prior Airgas specific experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift Experience.
  • Touch freight delivery experience.
