Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, though you may work fewer hours down to a minimum of 12.
We will schedule your contracted hours within the availability windows above and provide a three‑week notice of your shifts. We support flexibility and will consider your availability if it closely matches the advertised windows.

- Take part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
- Be knowledgeable about store performance, understand your role in driving service and sales, reducing waste and shrink and delivering profit.
- Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure customers receive them in best condition.
- Live our values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow policies.
- May be required to accept deliveries into the store.
- Have a passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile, and serving them with pride.
- Build rapport so customers leave having experienced a great shopping trip.
- Take initiative and make decisions that are right for customers.
- Work well within a team and communicate openly with others.
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, enjoy celebrations.
- Be punctual, well presented and serve as a brand ambassador.
