Position Overview :

The primary focus of this position is to serve as a Highway Engineer IIIfor the design of new construction, reconstruction or rehabilitation, and rehabilitation of roadways, sidewalks, and intersections throughout Maryland.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop design, and execution of highway and roadway projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with applicable design standards (e.g., AASHTO, FHWA, MDOT guidelines).
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including surveyors, environmental specialists, and construction personnel.
• Support permitting, bidding, and construction administration processes.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in highway or transportation engineering.
• Proficiency in design software such as Micro Station, Inroads, Open Roads (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D, and roadway modeling tools.
• Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles and practices.
