ERCES​/BDA Systems Technician

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced ERCES/BDA Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. This role collaborates closely with sales, field project teams, and clients to ensure sound design and seamless installation of ERCES solutions. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and effective human relations are essential.

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for project execution.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs.
• Program, commission, and obtain final acceptance of complex ERCES systems from customers and AHJs.
• Generate detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA.
• Conduct complex troubleshooting and provide effective resolution.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Oversee project and vehicle inventory.
• Work under tight deadlines.
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other technicians.
• Maintain customer focus and manage projects and people effectively.
• Manage job scheduling and progress efficiently and cost‑effectively with a strong focus on quality.
• Resolve issues proficiently.

• Adhere to OSHA safety standards.
• Travel occasionally overnight as needed.

• 2 to 5 years of experience in a technician role within the radio communications industry.
• Experience with Public Safety Land Mobile Radio (LMR), trucking, cellular technology, DAS, and data networking.
• Experience with Public Safety simulcast & P25 Radio Systems, cellular-based technologies, and associated testing parameters.
• Ability to program and commission mid‑range ERCES systems using a laptop computer.
• Familiarity with NFPA and IFC codes for Emergency Radio Communications Enhancement Systems.
• Knowledge of RF testing, coaxial cable and antenna installation, and best practices for installation, testing, commission, certify, maintenance, and repair of Public Safety & Cellular Bi‑Directional Amplifiers (BDAs).
• Experience with Public Safety and/or Cellular coverage studies, isolation tests, cable & antenna line sweeps, and acceptance certifications for BDA/DAS projects; ability to document test results and generate system reports.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work professionally with internal and external customers at all levels.
• Ability to read and interpret ERCES project drawings and specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership, time‑management, and multitasking skills.

• GROL FCC license is a plus.
• Strong social skills in service, coordination, persuasion, and instruction.
• Skilled in complex problem solving.
• Technical skills and understanding of ERCES design.
• System certifications for products represented by Sciens and similar manufacturers.

Pay Rate: $28–$38 per hour, depending on experience.
