Retail Associate/ Customer Service, Retail & Store Manager
General Purpose
The Area Supervisor is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Area Supervisors open and close the Store, supervise Associates, maintain a friendly, easy to shop environment, ensure proper merchandise presentation, and maintain a clean work area at all times. They also execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed.
EssentialFunctions
- Maintain safe & secure environments by practicing safe behaviors, staying aware on the sales floor, correcting unsafe conditions, securing building entry, performing EAS checks, ensuring cash office security, and removing clutter.
- Provide customer service by treating all customers and associates with respect, demonstrating courtesy and professionalism, and recognizing associates through company programs.
- Represent the Company brand by maintaining a professional appearance, ensuring all associates adhere to the dress code, keeping all areas of the Store clean and merchandised, and performing daily trash removal.
- Perform general merchandising duties including receiving merchandise trucks, processing merchandise with urgency, receiving non-merchandise inbound deliveries, keeping stockrooms organized, and ensuring floor moves and promotional signings.
- Practice loss prevention awareness by maintaining customer service presence, safeguarding confidential information, maintaining PVM system, and conducting package inspections.
- Supervise front end operations by ensuring Associates execute front end standards, maintaining pace and presence, training on cash register procedures, controlling retail associate break schedule, maintaining equipment, and teaching scan & bag best practice.
- Maintain fitting rooms by ensuring cleanliness, auditing garment tags, and ensuring go-back compliance.
- Perform administrative duties such as cash pulls, front end control, payroll administration, and other duties assigned by the Store Manager.
- Apply competencies such as managing work processes, building talent, collaborating, leading by example, and communicating effectively.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to use all store equipment, stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time; regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.; use janitorial equipment and other assigned supplies. Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 lbs.
