Driver - PRN

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

St. Ann Adult Day Service, a Catholic Charities of Baltimore program, is seeking a PRN (As Needed) Driver to provide daily and special event transportation for program residents. The Driver will maintain vehicle care and safety, ensuring reliable service for participants.

• Transport participants to and from the facility and special events as scheduled.
• Obtain routing information from designated staff and report any problems immediately.
• Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, maintaining security using wheelchair locks, seat belts, and program procedures.
• Observe participants for changes in functioning and report observations promptly.
• Conduct full vehicle inspection for damage, safety concerns, and fuel levels prior each use; report concerns to supervisor.
• Immediately report traffic accidents to supervisor, requesting police or ambulance service as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• Obtain and maintain a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Certificate.

First Aid/CPR certification.

• Remain calm in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication skills including active listening.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and coworkers.
• Comfortable in settings where patients cannot perform basic life duties.
• Relate and care for a variety of personalities.

• Lift a minimum of 75 pounds; stand for periods; bend, push/pull wheelchairs; transfer people.
• Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
• Move in different positions to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spaces.
• Remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Normal hearing and vision (corrected) required for safe driving and communication.
• Driving (agency and/or personal vehicle) is required. Driver must be at least 21, have at least 2 years of driving experience, hold a valid driver’s license, and have no state‑issued restrictions that impede operation. No more than three points on record.
