Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Dishwasher who will be responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans and glasses. Duties include prioritizing loads of different types of crockery and kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher and placing dishes to dry.

• Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, and cooking utensils using manual or mechanical methods.
• Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and safely, ensuring proper handling and care.
• Sort, stack, and store cleaned items in appropriate storage areas, following established guidelines and safety procedures.
• Assist with kitchen organization by maintaining a clean and tidy work area, including the dishwashing station and surrounding areas.
• Empty trash containers regularly and dispose of waste according to established protocol.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of dishwashing equipment by performing routine maintenance tasks and reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient operation, assisting with basic food preparation tasks when required.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, and adhere to sanitation standards to prevent cross-contamination.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and address any issues or concerns promptly.
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced and demanding environment, showing a strong commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction.

• Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Ability to handle a high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Strong physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hot and humid environment.
• Basic knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the operational needs of the establishment.
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
