Assistant Manager II – Family Dollar

Location: 403 S Brevard Ave, Arcadia, Florida

Employment Type: Full Time

About the Role

We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. This role involves the following responsibilities and requires the listed qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities
  • Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
  • Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, ensuring seasonal areas are maintained
  • Perform opening and closing procedures
  • Process corporate directives such as Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other store‑related communications
  • Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays
  • Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record‑keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts) while supporting loss prevention
  • Maintain store areas to company standards, including a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
  • Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
  • Ensure all associates follow safety guidelines and company policies
  • Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates with the Store Manager
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the store: bathrooms, floors, trash removal, general presentability
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred); required ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives
  • Preferred store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
  • Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment
  • Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
