(Job #553266) Student Services Professional 1A, Outreach and Recruitment Specialist, Salary Range: $ Hiring Range: $4150-$4357. This is a full‑time, benefited, non‑exempt, 12‑month pay plan, permanent position with a one‑year probationary period in the Office of Admissions. Position Summary: The Admissions Outreach and Recruitment Specialist supports all areas of outreach and recruitment, working closely with Admissions Counselors, Transfer Center, Registrar’s Office and Director of Admissions to support strategic enrollment initiatives. Incumbent will be proactive and responsive to the needs of prospects, applicants and admitted students and their families. The role also assumes responsibility for recurring daily and weekly duties such associated with the management of the admissions office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain presence in Admissions Office in order to provide in‑person assistance to those interested persons seeking information about Cal Poly Humboldt and the application/admissions process, Also respond to inquiries via phone, email and virtually (i.e. Zoom)
  • Direct outreach to prospective applicants using current tools and practices
    -phone, email, handwritten , and SMS
  • Direct outreach to applicants using current tools and practices
    -phone, email, handwritten, and SMS
  • Direct outreach to admitted students using current tools and practices
    -phone, email, handwritten, and SMS
  • Responsible for weekly “Counselor of the Day” Duties to include primary responsibility for responding to inbound phone calls and emails, resolving issue and/or inquiries and/or directing them to appropriate parties
  • Be available to spend one day per week at College of Redwoods, supporting partnership and facilitating transfer enrollment.
  • Regularly conduct admission and pre‑admission appointments covering FTF, UDT and LDT admissions requirements
  • Conduct evaluations of applicants for admission within the CSU framework and Humboldt specific requirements
  • Be knowledgeable and comfortable using Slate, People Soft, Microsoft and Google suite
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Associated with this Position Include:
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a high‑speed educational environment that is characterized by multiple deadlines and frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity addressing issues of concern facing students from diverse backgrounds in higher education
  • Good organizational skills.
