Description:

• Collects and hauls off leaf, limbs, etc.
• Assists in cleaning and maintaining of vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Repairs and installs water and sewer lines; checks lift stations; locates utility lines; makes water and sewer taps; repairs water leaks.
• Uses mowing equipment on right of ways and city property; cuts and removes trees.
• Performs various building maintenance; moves furniture, paints, changes light bulbs, performs routine plumbing repairs, roof repairs, and minor carpentry.
• Cold patches streets and roadways.
• Operates a variety of vehicles including leaf vac truck, dump truck, limb truck, tractor, track hoe.
• Reads water meters; replaces meters; turns water service off and on.
• Works in an on-call rotation for emergency call-in.

Candidate should have the ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in differing weather conditions. Must be able to perform basic life functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, and hearing. Candidate is required to possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license and have a safe driving record. Pre‑employment drug testing, driving record and a criminal check are required.

Hours:

7:00am-3:30pm weekdays; other times when necessary or assigned.
