About the roleThe Arden Hills Operations team is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer III to support component fabrication. The role of a Manufacturing Engineer III is to lead engineering initiatives for the daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment to meet operations goals. In a fast-paced and dynamic environment, this position will be primarily responsible for owning and supporting the Progressive Stamping production line, while working cross-functionally with quality, production, R&D, and project management teams to achieve goals, as well as update, improve, or add new manufacturing processes.
This role requires an onsite workmode. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities- Initiates and completes technical activities leading to new or improved products or processes, for current and next generation programs, and to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company.
- Designs fixtures, selects tooling, and develops programs/processes for improving existing production components and developing new ones.
- Monitor performance of equipment and processes, providing troubleshooting and root cause analysis of non-conformances, low yields, or other quality/production issues.
- Communicate effectively to an audience consisting of peers, operations management, and supporting divisions (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Project Management, etc)
- Plan, organize and prioritize daily work to meet production and project goals.
- Apply problem solving and process improvement methodologies to complex and diverse manufacturing processes - driving root cause analysis and resolution.
- Train and/or provide work direction to manufacturing operators and technicians.
- Recognize quality signals and escalate appropriately within the quality system requirements.
- Lead projects with cross-functional team members working towards common business goals.
- Create, update, and enhance manufacturing work instructions used by Production Personnel
- Work collaboratively with divisional customer teams (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality, other) to deliver-on new product introductions, change management, process improvements, or business continuity projects.
- Gather, analyze, and summarize data - reporting out conclusions to peers and management.
- Work with vendors/suppliers on technical design, procurement, and fabrication of materials, equipment, fixturing, etc.
- Is resilient in the face of setbacks. Plans for risks and responds positively to unforeseen problems.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of related manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience solving advanced technical problems and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven understanding of manufacturing problem solving, data analysis, and production flow tools (i.e. LEAN manufacturing)
- Experience in a metal fabrication environment, such as CNC or progressive die stamping equipment
- Experience with 3D CAD programs, CAM software
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross functional peers in both sustaining process improvement and design for manufacturability of new products and technologies
- Demonstrated project management ability to lead technical problem solving as well as continuous improvement projects
- Previous Medical Device industry or other highly regulated device manufacturing
- Experience completing validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ, process characterizations
- Experience solving advanced technical problems
- Project Management experience
Requisition
Minimum Salary: $76,000
Maximum Salary: $144,400
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see - will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
