A global leader in life‑changing medical technology is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to take ownership of complex development initiatives that directly impact patient care worldwide. This is a high‑visibility role for an expert‑level engineer who thrives in advanced R&D environments, leads with technical confidence, and shapes next‑generation medical device packaging solutions from concept through verification.
Hours & Pay- Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Compensation: Approximately $123,300 annually (equivalent contract rate up to $82/hour, depending on arrangement)
- Duration: 6‑month engagement with potential temp‑to‑hire conversion for the right individual and budget approval
- Lead complex and novel packaging engineering assignments requiring the development of new or enhanced techniques, materials, or processes
- Drive technology development, product design, material testing, specification preparation, and process studies
- Contribute to research investigations and prepare high‑quality technical reports
- Assess the feasibility and performance of alternative engineering processes, products, and equipment
- Coordinate, manage, and document project objectives, timelines, and progress
- Interface with physicians and cath lab personnel to gather feedback and translate clinical needs into packaging solutions
- Provide technical guidance to product development and technology teams
- Develop, review, and coach others on engineering and design documentation
- Train and direct technicians and less experienced engineers
- Lead cross‑functional engineering teams to successful project completion
- Apply deep knowledge of PDP/TPD systems to deliver high‑impact, compliant engineering outputs
- Ensure quality is built into all work by maintaining compliance with applicable quality system requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 9–13 years of experience, Master’s degree with 7–11 years, or PhD with 4–8 years of relevant experience
- Advanced experience in medical device packaging engineering
- Hands‑on involvement with acquisitions‑related packaging engineering projects
- Strong background in design verification and validation
- Proven ability to work independently on complex R&D initiatives with minimal technical direction
- Expertise in developing and refining technologies, materials, and packaging processes
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Ability to translate user and clinical feedback into practical, compliant packaging solutions
