Ready to build AI that does real work? At Nextek, you'll turn language models into dependable workflows that connect to the tools, data, and processes our teams rely on every day. It's hands-on, high-ownership work where reliability matters, and the people you build for will notice.
Nextek is the technology company within Gradient Financial Group, building the tools and technology that help our family of companies and the independent financial professionals we serve run and grow their businesses. You'll work with a team, have real ownership of what you build, and see your work put to use across Gradient.
What You'll Do- Design multi-step and multi-agent workflows, deciding what the model, the code, and the humans each handle
- Connect models to tools and data through APIs, tool calling, MCP, CRMs, email, and databases
- Write prompts and reusable skills that produce consistent, dependable output
- Build validation checks, understand how models fail, and keep a human in the loop where it matters
- Turn vague business needs into precise, testable processes
- Take workflows from prototype to secure, monitored production, and keep them running
- Hands-on AI orchestration experience and a portfolio of workflows you've shipped
- Experience with orchestration frameworks like DSPy and bespoke models like JEV
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Sound judgment with confidential data
- Education:
STEM degree (physics, chemistry, math, computer science, engineering, biology, or similar). Equivalent demonstrated experience is considered. - You are: self-directed, a fast learner, comfortable with ambiguity, and someone who takes ownership and verifies before trusting
- Dev Ops and production engineering: AWS or Azure (deployment, IAM, cost control), CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, monitoring, versioning, and rollback
- Data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake
- Security experience:
Crowd Strike or similar, secrets management, least-privilege access - Experience with open-weight models and multiple AI platforms
- Laravel experience
No guessing games. We'll ask you to walk us through a portfolio project (what you built, why, and what broke), outline an orchestration for a real recurring task, and talk through how you took a prototype to a secure, reliable deployment.
