JOB SUMMARYAssist in tasks associated with the construction of asphalt pavement on highway construction. Operate the paver equipment that lays down the asphalt pavement and keep track of how much asphalt is being laid.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Will perform duties to set up paving equipment for the operation to maintain smooth, consistent, and correctly aligned lay down asphalt.
- Must be able to perform light mechanical adjustments and assist with mechanical repairs on assigned equipment.
- Will check all fluid levels at the beginning of engine startup for the day and monitor gauges, fluid levels, operation, and function through the entire day operation and clean the paver and the end of the day.
- Adhere to all safe practices and procedures.
- Other assigned duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with asphalt on paving crews and equipment required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed.
- Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold temperatures.
- Maintain good safety, behavior and attendance record.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
