Hospitalist Swing Shift

The Hospitalist is responsible for providing comprehensive care to hospitalized patients throughout their stay, including emergency evaluation, triage, admission, differential diagnosis, and the development of a comprehensive care plan in accordance with evidence-based protocols. The role also includes participation in the education of the hospital's physicians, students, nurses, and other members of the patient care team.

• Conduct comprehensive examinations and evaluations and make treatment decisions.
• Admit patients to the hospital.
• Provide primary and consultative medical care to patients admitted to various units with appropriate subspecialty consultation.
• Coordinate care of patients through collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and ancillary service providers.
• Keep patients informed and provide periodic updates as appropriate.
• Participate in the hospital’s utilization management, risk management, and performance improvement programs.

• 2 years of practice as a Hospitalist preferred.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study required.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.

• Current license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
