Senior Estimator

LOCATION

Southern Oklahoma/North Texas

As a Senior Estimator at Overland Corporation in our estimating department, you will play a critical role in leading a team of estimators and overseeing the estimation process. Coordinate and lead activities of an estimating team, review estimates, maintain records, and assist other team members.

• Lead constructability reviews, quantify take-offs, and pricing for multiple disciplines on a pursuit.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
• Possess a fundamental knowledge of earthwork grading, bridge construction, drainage pipe installation, and roadway paving (concrete/asphalt).
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Take responsibility for bid closeout.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Coordinate and lead the activities of a team of estimators, review estimates, and maintain records.
• Establish and maintain budget control during the estimating / preconstruction phases of the project.
• Analyze and review engineering contracts, plans, and specifications to develop detailed, comprehensive construction estimates.
• Oversee the estimating function and associated workflow in a project environment, coordinating input from internal and external groups required for estimate and proposals.
• Ensure the estimating and proposal activities are in accordance with Overland Corporation codes and standards.
• Participate in post-bid reviews and project handover meetings.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in civil estimating or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of Heavy Civil, Earthwork, Drainage, Pipe Installation, Asphalt Paving, and Bridge Building.
• Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling, cost control, specifications, engineering drawings, means and methods, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
• Proficiency in estimating software and related tools such as HCSS-Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, and Primavera P6.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Minimal traveling is required for this position.
