Produce Manager – Albertsons Market
Location:
Ardmore, OK
- Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly customer service.
- Assist customers by making product suggestions.
- Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in‑store intercom announcements, and one‑on‑one customer interaction.
- Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed.
- Plan daily operations, monitor production process following company procedures and profitability.
- Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce; build produce displays, rotate and discard outdated or spoiled product; ensure cleanliness of work area and department.
- Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays; may be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Salad Bar (where applicable) and Fresh‑Made.
- Follow and maintain department standards and requirements such as Fresh‑Made and product freshness.
- Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance.
- Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels.
- Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening and closing duties.
- Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.
- Train employees in store policies, sales and record keeping procedures.
- Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement opportunities.
- Possess working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
- Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department.
- Initiate personnel actions such as pre‑employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Prepare sales and inventory reports; perform physical inventory every 4 weeks.
- Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness; maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate product; maintain and organize the produce cooler.
- Control shrink and cost.
- Implement correct product preparation techniques; use and operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine.
