Job Summary
A Rigger safely prepares, lifts, moves, and installs heavy loads using cranes, hoists, pulleys, and other rigging equipment on commercial, industrial, and construction projects.

$25.00 per hour
Primary Responsibilities- Select, inspect, and set up rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, chokers, chains, spreader bars, and hoists.
- Determine load weights, center of gravity, and appropriate lifting methods.
- Install lifting and support devices to secure loads for hoisting or moving.
- Signal and communicate clearly with crane operators using standard hand signals or radios.
- Perform pre-lift planning and assist with lift plans for critical or complex movements.
- Inspect load rigging before lifting to confirm secure and stable connection points.
- Monitor loads during movement and make adjustments as needed to maintain balance, clearance, and safety.
- Follow OSHA, ANSI, and site-specific safety requirements for rigging.
- Conduct equipment inspections and report damaged or unsafe gear.
- Assist in load placement, erection, installation, and dismantling tasks once lifted.
- Must have at least 3-5 years experience in construction or industrial rigging (commercial or heavy industrial preferred).
- Knowledge of sling angles, load charts, center-of-gravity calculations, and safe working loads.
- Ability to interpret lift plans, crane signals, and load charts.
- Proficiency in standard crane hand signals (NCCCO/ASME standard).
- Strong situational awareness and hazard recognition.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined areas, or around heavy equipment.
- NCCCO or equivalent Rigger Level I or II certification
- OSHA 10 or 30 Construction Safety
- Fall Protection certification (site dependent)
- Lift and handle rigging gear up to 75 lbs.
- Stand, kneel, climb, and work outdoors in varying weather.
- Coordinate physical movements with crane operations and team communication.
