The Shop Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment in a shop environment. This position works under the guidance of service leadership while developing technical skills and product knowledge.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and related systems.
- Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Complete assigned work orders accurately and efficiently.
- Document repairs, parts usage, and labor activities in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly operate and care for shop tools and equipment.
- Participate in manufacturer and company training programs to develop technical skills.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and support personnel.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Support dealership goals for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, agricultural, automotive, or related equipment repair preferred.
- Basic understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic service information systems preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
- Must possess an adequate technician toolset.
