Position Summary

The Shop Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment in a shop environment. This position works under the guidance of service leadership while developing technical skills and product knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and related systems.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Document repairs, parts usage, and labor activities in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Properly operate and care for shop tools and equipment.
  • Participate in manufacturer and company training programs to develop technical skills.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and support personnel.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Support dealership goals for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, agricultural, automotive, or related equipment repair preferred.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with electronic service information systems preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
  • Must possess an adequate technician toolset.
