• At least 18 years old
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Or enrolled in a minimum of 2 years of child development coursework approved by state licensing requirements
• Experience working with children and at least two seasons as a Y Camp Counselor or a comparable program counselor
• Enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience

• Supervise campers and plan camp activities; actively participate to encourage participation
• Ensure all campers can participate in all activities, regardless of varied abilities—physical or intellectual
• Identify, address, and redirect/correct inappropriate behavior
• Ensure appropriate behavior of campers and staff to avoid risk of accidents
• Assist in maintaining effective communication with parents/guardians regarding camper and camp activities
• Embody the GPY commitment to diversity and inclusion, regardless of race, color, creed, or gender identification
