Front Desk Attendant – Part‑time

The front desk attendant is a part‑time staff position at the Kaiserman Jewish Community Center, under the supervision of the Office Manager. The role requires evening and weekend hours and involves supervising various building functions, answering phones, assisting guests, and supporting the Office Manager with daily operations.

• Monday – Friday evenings (4:00 PM – 10:00 PM or close)
• Be familiar with all emergency procedures.
• Check the daily schedule for evening events and the information book for updates to programs.
• Make ice bags, report shortages to the Office Manager.
• When the pool is open, make frequent trips to the pool.
• Report any accidents or incidents using the appropriate forms in the information book.
• Swipe participants into EZ Facility; create swipe cards for members.
• Read emails and stay up to date on all activities on our website.
• Take payments of cash, check, or credit cards at EZ Facility.
• During basketball season, ensure the floor is mopped and table and chairs are set up for games.
• Act as the eyes and ears of the JCC.
• Keep the front desk area clean.
• At the end of the shift, secure the building by closing all doors and windows and setting the alarm.
• Assist the Office Manager and Maintenance with any additional tasks needed.

• Open the building and perform all duties listed above.
• Ensure all weekend programs are set up.

• First impressions are critical; the front desk staff make the most important first impression.
• Emphasize Hachnasat Orchim (Hospitality), ensuring everyone feels welcome, respected, and important to our community.
• Security awareness; familiar with emergency procedures.
